December Goodies - What I Got for my Birthday and Christmas!

Within the month of December, I have both my birthday (I turned 19… only one year of being a teen left, I can’t explain how scary that is to me) and then there is Christmas, this means that during this month I get goodies from those I love in my life. If you are anything like me then you are very noisy, therefore you might find it interesting to find out what bits and bobs I got throughout December.

Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to brag, I am very grateful for everything I received this birthday and just thought it would be interesting to share.

Let’s start with what I got for my Birthday, first of all, I got some money from my friends and family which was really sweet of them, so thank you to my nan, my aunt and uncle, my family friends and my friend.

I feel like starting with my family first is best, my younger sister got me a huge Yankee Candle in the scent Perfect Margarita and oh my goodness it smells amazing, the best way I have to describe the smell is the lemon and lime sherbet hard candies. My younger brother got me two little heart shaped candle holders and a purple pom-pom keychain. My older brother and sister got me a very big bottle of PIMM’S which I am currently enjoying in some orange juice at this exact moment of writing this.

My parents got me quite a few bits, the first thing I opened was a Mickey Mouse shaped back pack which I adore. I don’t own to many bags and the bag I currently use is verging on falling to pieces, so the bag definitely came at the right time. It’s plain bag which is perfect for me because my whole wardrobe consists of black, white and grey items so it matches my ‘aesthetic’ perfectly.

Next, I got a little wall plaque that says “Dreams, Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” I love little home décor pieces, so I can’t wait to find a nice little spot in my room to put this in.

I also got a huge Lush bath set that is full of lots of goodies. In the box there was an Experimenter bath bomb, a Over and Over bath bomb, the Comforter bubble bar, a fun in Sea Monster and a Dragon’s Egg bath bomb. It also came with a little duck banner that spelt out ‘Happy Bathday.’ I love Lush, so this set will definitely be well used, the Comforter scent is actually my favourite scent from Lush, so I was really happy to receive that.

I also got a necklace, it’s silver and has a little ball with tassels coming off of it. I do like more unusual necklaces, so this is really my style, as well as a little feather ring. I also got a mini eyeshadow palette full of lots of glitters, which my eyelids will thoroughly appreciate!

I got two main gifts also from my parents, the first I knew I was getting because it was the only thing I asked for this year and it is a clothing rack. I often see in Pinterest style home décor these clothing racks and I decided that I NEEDED it! So, when my parents found out I was originally going to buy it for myself despite my birthday being in a couple of weeks and neither of them having any idea what to get me, they said that I could have it for my birthday. They also brought my coat hangers to go with which is something that I dumbly didn’t consider that I would need. I love it, and after literal hours of me trying to assemble it, it is finally up and full of my clothes.

For my other main present, I got a £50 tattoo voucher! I am very happy to now be able to add to my small collection of tattoos.

My Grandad got me a little heart necklace as well which is also very cute.

Now onto other people in my life, my best friend Millie had previously paid for the matching footprint tattoos that I have talked about in a previous post (click here to read more: https://holleedee.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/my-small-collection-of-tattoos.html) but she also got me a lovely cup with Belle from the original Beauty and the Beast on it and I adore it!

I also received some other goodies from my friend, including two skirts that I love, a set of Christmassy earrings and a Christmas bauble for my tree (yes, I am obsessed with Christmas and yes, the bauble ended up on my tree).

My work also got me a little present which was really sweet, the got me a little Dove wash set and a chocolate orange which admittedly I have already eaten, aha.

Now for Christmas, at work we always do a little Secret Santa amongst the staff, I was got lots of lovely treats from my Secret Santa including a bobble hat (which I have be wearing to excess), a candle, some bath treats, a necklace with lots of Snow White themed pendants and a Ted Baker makeup bag filled with goodies. Also from work I got a box of Ferrero Rocher.

From my family, I firstly got a little box of Christmas Eve full of treats like pyjamas, a Christmas mug, chocolate, bath bombs and so funky earrings!

I received lots of beauty sets, including brands like Baylis and Harding, Dove and Tresemme. I’m love mini versions of products so now that I have all these little shower gels, and hair products etc in mini form really excites me aha!

I also got a new bag and purse, which honestly was a life saver as the current purse I was using didn’t even have a zip any more (I know it’s tragic, I don’t know why I didn’t just buy myself a new one honestly).

Probably the geekiest item I got this year was a puzzle, I have this puzzle app on my phone that I am obsessed with so now I have one in real form to waste all my time on, it’s definitely going to be my new form of procrastination this year.

I always get some lovely clothing items at Christmas, and this year was no different, I got some jumpers and shoes which I have been wearing non-stop this Christmas period.

From my best friend I got a little prosecco set (hands up if you ae also an avid drinker of prosecco because me too).

Alongside all these goodies, I was also given a lot of different gift cards from lots of different people.

I am so thankful for all the goodies I got this December. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or holidays in general and are looking forward to the new year! Goodbye 2017!

Small Christmas Eve Routine

Everyone has the own special little traditions on Christmas Eve, I thought as it is so close to the 24th now that I would share my Christmas Eve routine.

The first thing I will do on Christmas Eve is check that I have all my presents sorted for the next day, I finish of any last wrapping and place all the presents into bags ready to be carried down in the morning. I love to gift give, it’s one of my favourite aspects of Christmas and I always get incredibly excited to give out the gifts I have got for my loved ones.

Then it’s time to wind down, I will either have a bath or a really long shower. If having a bath, I will fill it with various bath bombs and bubble bath (often from Lush), and get all my special body lotions, creams and face mask for the most perfect pamper evening.

Once out of the bath or shower, we will often get a little present for Christmas Eve. The present is often a new set of pyjamas or a dressing gown for us to wear for the evening and wake up in on Christmas day. This year I have also made my brother and sister a Christmas Eve box full of little goodies, so I can’t wait to give that to them to use on the evening.

When our pyjamas are on it’s Christmas movie time, more often than not it is Elf! Elf is by far the best Christmas movie and I refuse to have Christmas without watching it. I also like to watch the Wizard of Oz, despite not being a Christmas movie, for some reason we have seemed to watch it every year at Christmas.

Now despite everyone in my house being told old for Father Christmas, we still put out a plate of milk, carrots and chocolates (Father Christmas doesn’t like mince pies in our house, aha) for his and the reindeer’s arrival. My brother and sister will then go off to bed and more often than not I will sit up and help mum, to wrap up any presents left that she needs to wrap. Again, despite being told old for Father Christmas, on Christmas Eve I will still go to bed earlier than usual and wait for the morning ahead.

It’s only a small little routine, but it’s probably the evening routine of the whole year that is the most important.

Hope you are all having a wonderfully festive time,

Much Love, Holly x

Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas - Under £15

Christmas is very fast approaching, meaning that there will be a lot of people stressing because they have left their shopping up until the last second. In order to try and help some of those people, I have made a list of 10 last minute, cheap and easy Christmas Gifts that can all be under £15!

Please note that none of the pictures used in this blog post are my own.

A Scrapbook

Hobbycraft Scrapbook
Making a scrapbook for someone who takes a lot of photos is a perfect idea, and the good thing about a DIY present is that you can tailor the price to what you have available to spend. Also, you can make the scrapbook as simple or as detailed as you like, depending on the person you are gifting it to. This year I actually myself made a scrapbook for one of my loved ones, the book itself was £6 from Hobbycraft and the pictures cost next to nothing on a site called Snapfish. As for the decoration process I brought some metallic pens, glitter, confetti and some fake flowers to decorate the pages. I love personalised gifts because you know that when you receive them that a lot of work has gone into them.

Cup Gifts

Every year for Christmas since I was incredibly young I have received some sort of cup or mug, often it was put in my stocking as a gift from ‘Santa.’ Everyone drinks something so a cup is always a safe bet, but a way to put a special twist on the normal cup gift is to fix it with sachets of coffee, tea or hot chocolate depending on the tastes of the person you are gifting the cup to. You can also add other little bits, such as marshmallows, a pack of chocolates, edible sprinkles or glitter or special flavour essences such as toffee, caramel or peppermint.

Jar Gifts

Cookies in a Jar
An idea I have seen often floating around Pinterest is to use kilner jars filled with goodies as gifts. This could range from adding dry ingredients for cookies and cakes to a jar with instructions on how to make them or adding travel sized items such as shower gels, shampoos, hand crèmes or lip balms for a pamper lover. You could place any small objects that the person you are making for would like into a kilner jar and wrap it up with a bow and as the objects are always mini size in order to fit inside the jar this is a present DIY that will be able to stay under £15.

Gift Cards

You can never go wrong with a gift card, and the great thing about gift cards is that you can pick exactly the amount you want to give the person. So, whether your budget is a fiver of fifty pounds someone will always be happy to receive a little bit extra off the items in their favourite shop or on the favourite website.

Primark Pyjamas
Pyjamas

Primark is the perfect place to go for cosy and soft pyjamas that are under £15, often you can also find cosy socks or slippers that will also stay under the budget. Most people love a new comfy set of pyjamas to snuggle up in on Christmas evening!

Sweet Tooth Gifts

Everybody knows a person with a huge sweet tooth, and Christmas times is the perfect excuse to eat whatever you want for the whole of December. Getting a present box, which are found cheap in all card stores and filling it with different sweets or chocolates is a given way to make someone smile this Christmas!

                                                   Home Décor

Light Box
Often people will see a lot of things for their home or bedroom that they will never buy, so get them for them for Christmas. A perfect example is a light box, or a set of pillows, a duvet set or some cool wall art. I know that I love to decorate my room and so do most other people.

Alcohol

For those of your loved ones who are older enough to drink, you can find lots of alcohol gifts sets, especially in supermarkets this time of year. Often with these gift sets they will range from anywhere between £5-£20, again giving you freedom to choose just how much you want to spend.

Wash Sets

Ted Baker Wash Set
In the same way with alcohol sets, around this time of year every supermarket or beauty store will have some form of wash set. Particularly, Lush do amazing wash sets that can be tailored to each individual person. Again, wash sets can be really cheap and can get increasingly expensive, perfect for whatever price range.

Lottery Tickets

I have always loved getting lottery tickets as presents, the fun that comes alongside seeing if you have one something is something I personally really enjoy. That’s way I think that getting someone a bunch of lottery tickets and placing them inside a card with a bar of chocolate is a perfect gift. It’s an easy gift that everyone of all ages and interests will get enjoyment from.

I hope that you will have been able to get some gift inspiration from this post, hope you are having a magically festive time,

Uncommon Names I Love!

Like most females and a lot of males, over the years I have gathered a huge list of names I love for if I ever need to use them. As a rule, the names I love are normally uncommon and to most would be considered old school. I have narrowed my very long list of names to 16 uncommon names I love the most.

Firstly, I love the name Atticus. Ever since reading To Kill a Mockingbird the name has always stuck with me. I think that the main reason I love this name is due to the way it sounds. I also like how it sounds when it is shortened to Attis.

I feel like this next name is more common, but I still think it fits the ‘old school’ theme and it’s the name Elijah. I’ve been obsessed with this name for a while, again I think it sounds really nice when said and it’s just a very strong name. I also like Eli for short.

Next is the name Tobias, I prefer when this name is left in full as oppose to Tobi, but I do like either variation. I have no idea why, but I feel like the name Tobias sounds like the name of someone who is very smart and important.

Another name on this list is Thaddeus, my love for this name came from my love for the film Now You See Me, where one of the characters was named Thaddeus Bradley. I instantly loved the way it sounded! I like also that it can be shortened to Theo. I would say that Thaddeus is probably the most uncommon and unusual name on this list which is probably one of the reasons why it is one of my favourites.

Again, this next name is more broadly common, however I have never actually met someone with this name and it is Luca. I absolutely love how this sounds, it roles of the tongue and I just think it is a really pretty name.

I also love the name Arlo, again it just roles of the tongue and I think it sounds really pretty. I also like that it is a simple name and it sounds very old school.

Another name I love that is particularly unusual is Otto, but I think that it’s just sooo cute and quite cool sounding. Honestly, I am not a hundred percent sure why I like this name, but I just do.

I also love the name Ieuan, the way I would pronounce this name would be Yi-An. Again, I think this name just roles of the tongue when said and is quite unique. As my name is quite common I love when I find names that I have never heard anybody called before.

Another name I love is Finnleigh spelt specifically with the ‘leigh’ on the end as a prefer this name particularly on a girl. Every time I hear this name I imagine a little girl with brown hair and two little plaits… is that weird? Aha!

After reading The Morganville Vampires series I have found a lot of love for the name Amelie. In my head when I read the name I pronounce it as Am-I-Lee. I also really love the name Emily but as it’s quite common, I think that Amelie is quite a nice twist on the name.

Wren is the next name that I love, I’m not going to lie, the love from the name did come from Pretty Little Liars. But unlike the show where the character is a male, I love the name for a girl. The same way I do with Finnleigh, whenever I hear the name I just imagine a little girl with brown hair!

I think my next name people will either love or hate and it’s the name Bambi. I absolutely love this! I think it is so cute! Just a little girl or boy called Bambi, how sweet! Anyone else love this name?

The next name I think is more common, but it is still not one I hear all the time and it’s the name Erika. Again, I’m not a hundred percent sure why I love this name but ever since I heard it in the TV show F.R.I.E.N.D.S it has just always stuck with me.

Olive is the next name I love, I think it’s a very pretty twist on the name Olivia which is more common. In my opinion it’s very pretty and sweet sounding.

Eden is another name I love, I think it sounds very old school but very pretty at the same time! I also like that it is a very simple name.

Finally, my last name on this list is Meela. I feel like most people would choose to spell it Mila, but for some reason whenever I see Mila wrote down my natural instinct is to say My-La, so unless I spell it out phonetically I would never say it the way I would actually want to pronounce it! Did that make sense? I don’t think so aha!

So, I know this has been a little bit of a random blog post, but I hope you enjoyed reading it! I would love to know what names you love,

Much Love, Holly x

My Top 5 Favourite Disney Movies!

I was a big Disney child and if you grow up loving Disney, that love never goes away. So, today I thought I would share with you my top five favourite Disney movies!

Number 5!
Now, this was more difficult than I thought it would be as for my number five spot I was undecided between two movies, Peter Pan and Finding Nemo, but after thinking about which of the two movies I would watch right at this very moment it had to be Finding Nemo.
I remember the first time I watched Finding Nemo I actually got scared and cried… Bruce’s mouth full of sharp teeth was actually quite unsettling as a young child and it put me off watching the movie again for years. But once I was a little older and watched Finding Nemo with more grown up eyes I realised just how much I love the little fish with one ear smaller than the other. My particular favourite part of the movie is when Marlin and Dory ride the waves with the turtles, ‘Dude!’

Number 4!
Number 4 is Toy Story! I love toy story sooooooooooooo much! I’m not going to lie, I cried at the Toy Story 3 and when I say cry I mean literally sitting in the cinema balling my eyes out! I can’t quite explain the stress that gets lifted when you realise that the toys are going to end up in the burner of the rubbish dump!
Out of the 3 movies, Number 2 was my favourite purely because I love Jessie, I remember as a child I had a Jessie doll and I wrote my name of the bottom of her shoe. All the Toy Story movies are just fun and easy to watch, and I don’t understand how anyone can’t love the movies!

Number 3!
Ranking the last 3 movies was hard as I love them pretty much equally, however in the end I decided that Tangled was my third-place spot. I know every single word from the whole tangled movie and despite him being a cartoon I love Flynn! I have never wanted an animated couple to succeed more than I did with Flynn and Rapunzel.
One of my main reasons for loving this movie is the songs, my favourites include ‘Mother Knows Best’ and ‘I’ve Got a Dream,’ every time I hear these two songs I can’t help but flood into song!

Number 2!
Beauty and the Beast is my runner up, specifically the classic version (controversial I know, but I wasn’t actually much of a fan of the live action version that recently came out). Honestly, I think the reason that Beauty and the Beast is so high up in my list of favourites is because it is my dad’s favourite Disney movie, which meant as a child it was on all the time. Anytime it was a choice of what Disney movie to watch my dad would some how manage to make sure the movie was Beauty and the Beast.
My favourite character by far is Chip! Who would have known you could have so much love for a slightly broken cup? All I have ever wanted is my own little chip cup, but I have never found one that looks authentic enough.
Also, a little Beauty and the Beast related side note, Belle in Once Upon a Time (a fairy-tale themed TV show, it’s available on Netflix and you should definitely watch it if you are a sucker for Disney) was just my perfect Belle! I love the way Emilie de Raven plays her on the show.

My Favourite Disney Movie!
My all time favourite Disney movie has to be Mary Poppins (and Mr Banks as an extension of the movie… is it cheating to technically have two movies as my top movie? Aha).
I can’t really put into words how much I love Mary Poppins, it’s a movie I could watch a million times over and never get bored. The songs are amazing, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are just perfect and just everything about the movie is so loveable!
As for Saving Mr Banks, just because I feel like I NEED to add a little in about this movie, I found it to be a perfect addition to my love for Mary Poppins. It made me cry (understatement) and laugh and I absolutely loved Tom Hanks as Walt Disney! If you love Mary Poppins you must watch Saving Mr Banks, I guarantee you’ll love it. My favourite moment of the whole movie has always been when they go around Uncle Albert’s house and end up having tea on the ceiling, whilst singing ‘Love to Laugh!’

I hope you enjoyed my little list of favourite Disney movies!

December Glossybox!

'Mince Pies, Starry Skies'
Glossybox is a beauty subscription box that I have been subscribed to for around a year now and it is something I would highly recommend for beauty lovers who constantly want to be trying new products. I have found so many new products through Glossybox that I absolutely love!

I thought as it is Christmas time I would share with you what I received in my Glossybox this month. Glossybox always up their game when there is some sort of holiday happening and this time round was no different.

So, let’s get into it!

Often in the Glossybox you will get one or two full sized products and then some miniatures, however this time round, the best thing about this month’s box is that all the products are full sized.

Naobay Cleanser and Ecodenta Toothpaste
There was a total of 5 products in this month’s box, the first being Ecodenta Black Whitening Toothpaste. I am always looking for new teeth whitening toothpastes so when I saw this I was quite excited, it claims to be all natural and with anti-bacterial benefits. I can’t wait to try this product out and see how it works.

Next, we have the Naobay Equilibria Gel to Milk. This product is gel to milk cleanser, it claims to leave the skin hydrated and not tight and is good to be predominately used on the T-Zone. I am also eager to use this product because as a rule, don’t judge me, I do tend to neglect my skin care a lot and will often go for make-up wipes and face wash, so I think it’s about time to revamp my skin care and try an actual cleanser.

Steve Lacrant Eyeliner
The next three products are make-up, which as a rule is my favourite part of receiving these boxes. One of my favourite make up products is an eyeliner and I struggle to find a better liner than my Kat Von D tattoo liner because of how fine the tip is, but after seeing the eyeliner in this box it’s safe to say that I feel like I have found a good contender. In this box I was given the Steve Lacrant Precision Tip Eyeliner, first of all it comes in the most beautiful rose gold packaging, the liner itself comes out very dark and the tip, as the name would suggest, has so much precision it could cut through metal! I am definitely going to give this product a try.

Laqa & CO. Cloud Lips Lipstick
Next, we have the Laqa & CO. Cloud Lips lipstick in the shade ‘Daydream.’ The shade is a dark nude colour and it seems to be very matte. Again, it comes in a beautiful rose gold packaging and honestly looks to pretty to use. You get a lot of product in the tube and it claims to be able to stay on your lips all night whilst feeling super light.

Finally, in the box there is a Model Co Lash Primer. It is now the first lash primer I have ever owned, and I am very excited to see if it is actually worth using in my every day routine as it has to be said I am very sceptical about the effectiveness of an eyelash primer.

Model Co Lash Primer
For those of you that are interested in this box it retails £10 a month (what I have chosen to do), £28.50 for 3 months, £54 for 6 months and £102.00 for a year, each with £3.25 for postage. And for those of you who are wondering if you get your money’s worth, this month’s box cost me £13.25 (including p&p) and the products I received add up to a worth of £58.18, so yes, you definitely get your money’s worth!

So, I hope you enjoyed taking a peak into the December Glossybox. I think that I am going to test out all these products and come back in a couple of weeks with my thoughts! Also, I might make this into a series here on my blog and show you all of the Glossybox I receive, so stay tuned for that!

Much Love, Holly x

Christmas Throughout the Years!

A couple of blog posts ago I talked about how I love to look back on old photos and as it is the Christmas season I have recently be looking back at old Christmas photos.

December as whole has always been one of my favourite times of the year, for me personally it is a very busy time of the year because as well as Christmas, I also have my birthday, my younger sister’s birthday and now my nephew’s birthday also.

As soon as January 1st roles around I am immediately on a count down for December 1st again! I love everything about this time of years, the lights, the colours, the scents, the pyjamas, but particularly I love how it’s the time of year where you get together with everyone you care about and all the business of everyone’s day to day life just disappears for a little bit.

My favourite part of this time of year, is present giving! I absolutely love buying people gifts, wrapping them and watching them open them and hoping that they like what I have got. This year I have gone quite simple with all my loved one’s gifts (maybe I will do a blog post on the presents I have brought this year) but I think it’s the best I have done in terms of gift ever. I can’t wait to give out my gifts… can Christmas day just come quicker already!

To go alongside this small little blog post about Christmas time, I decided to get out some old photos of myself at Christmas time throughout the years!

I hope you are having fun this festive season no matter how you are spending it,

Much Love, Holly x

A Few Christmas Questions

It’s officially December! That means it is time for all things Christmas! I thought I would kick of the festive season with a little set of questions that I have seen some people answer in their blogs.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

Definitely Elf, it never quite feels like Christmas until I have watched Elf. As a child, I used to sit with my dad and roll over in fits of laughter when Buddy runs into the toilet stall door, or when he calls Myles Finch a “angry elf.”

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

Both! We are allowed to open one present on Christmas Eve, this present is normally either pyjamas or a dressing gown (the reason being, so that we would have nice fresh sleep wear for when my mum took pictures in the morning).

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

We would always have Christmas parties at our house when I was younger, and although I can’t remember anything too specific, it was a party tradition to bust out sing-star and guitar hero and watch in hysterics as family members with tone deaf voices sang like their lives depended on it.

Favourite festive food?

Am I going to be judged if I say brussel sprouts? Yes, I really love the brussel sprouts and they always taste best a Christmas!

Favourite Christmas gift?

I was around 13 years old and I got a remote control Darlek, I was a big Doctor Who nerd and it was probably one of the times I have been most excited about opening a present – I also got a sonic screwdriver that year, so it was a pretty good one on the nerd front.

Favourite Christmas scent?

Cinnamon! Everything around Christmas time smells like Cinnamon! Ahhh it’s just the best!

Do you have any Christmas traditions?

Nothing in particular, other than the present on Christmas Eve. Despite all of me and my siblings probably being too old to believe in Father Christmas, we still continue to put out chocolate (Father Christmas doesn’t like mince pies in my house), milk and carrots, me and my mum will normally sit up a wrap presents and then she will cover the whole house and garden in glitter.

What tops your tree?

Sometimes an angel, sometimes a star, it depends what will match the colour scheme of the baubles best aha!

As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you asked for but never got?

I don’t think I ever asked for something and didn’t get it, I would like to think that even when younger I didn’t ask for anything too extravagant.

What’s the best part about Christmas for you?

The run up to Christmas in the best part. Buying and wrapping presents, blaring out Christmas music, decorating the tree, even the food shopping! With working in a nursery, the lead up to Christmas is made double as fun, with the Christmas party and dinner and play, secret Santa at work and the variety of different Christmas activities. Christmas day itself goes far too quickly!

No matter how you choose to spend your Holidays this year, I hope they are filled with excitement and happiness and everybody gets a well-deserved break.

Much

Graphology

I bring to you a completely random post about Graphology. I recently watched a video by BuzzFeed where a professional in Graphology was able to tell people about their personalities through only looking at their handwriting and signature.

So, what is Graphology?

Graphology is the study of handwriting, for example as use to infer a person’s character. The study of written and printed symbols and of writing systems.

After watching the video, I decided to do a little research and try to figure out what my handwriting and signature says about me – my findings I actually found to be quite interesting.

Handwriting

My handwriting is quite large, it feels up most of the space on the line. It says that people with larger handwriting are active and have a willingness to act, they can often be emotionally demanding and enthusiastic. However, people with larger handwriting are found to have a weaker grasp of reality and are impulsive.

The width of my handwriting is narrow which can often show self-control, cautious behaviour and concentration. People with narrower writing are more likely to have anxieties and feel a lack of inner freedom – I can defiantly say that the anxiety point has hit the nail on the head.

My word spacing is small and I keep my lettering close together, when people have word spacing are shown to need more contact and have thought patterns that are influenced by previous experiences, the can also be said to lack distance or mental order and have a chaotic inner life.

I use a lot of pressure when I write, which often can show a person to be assertive with a tendency to avoid energy draining situations as well as being more easily angered and anxious (there it is again, I never knew my handwriting was so obvious), they can often be shown to be more forceful.

Finally, in terms of handwriting, mine has a vertical slant. This can show that a person likes control, discipline and likes to have their thoughts under control. They may also be more reserved, cold and have difficulties when contacting with others.

Signature

Again, my signature is large. Often when the signature is larger than the handwriting, this can show that the person carries a pretence of higher self-esteem and confidence than actually is the case. This means that a person signature is most likely to be a front.

When somebody uses their full name is means you are more informal and like to get a first name terms quicker. However, if your surname is more legible than your first name, which mine is, it can show there to be reserve when meeting a person at first and would rather get to know a person better before being overly familiar. If you tend to sign your signature in the middle it can show a need for attention.

If your signature falls more than your handwriting does, which I believe is the case with mine as I have big dips in my signature, this can show that a more pessimistic front to life - but this may not be the truest feelings of a person.

Finally, the embellishments a person uses when signing their name can also give an insight into someone’s personality. In terms of embellishments in my signature, is use lines through my signature (the first letter of my surname crosses through my first name), this can show a person to be more self-critical and a likeliness to be more easily unhappy. In addition, my size of the lettering in my signature is irregular, when letters are larger this often means that the person wants to draw attentions to certain parts of their name and stressing their importance, for me this is my initials.

Lettering Specifics

Middle crosses on your t’s – this is said to show confidence and that a person is comfortable in their own skins (I can’t say I fully agree with this one, but it’s an interesting thought).

Closed O’s – this is said to show a person to be private and introverted (that’s more like it aha!)

Perfect dots over the I’s – this is said to show a person to be detail-orientated, empathetic and organised.

Ink Colour

Another clue into a person’s personality based on their handwriting is the chose pen colour. I am very picky about my pen colour and I always prefer to use a black… and I absolutely HATE using blue (it’s far too bright against white paper aha). If a person uses black ink this can often show a person to have ambition and anxiety to make a name for themselves, which honestly makes a lot of sense to me. They may also be seen to be emotionally uptight and lets likely to give away their true feelings. I defiantly didn’t think that the pen colour you chose would in any way reflect a person’s personality but it all matches up.

So, do I think that Graphology works in finding out about a person personality? I can’t say I am completely sold but I have found this whole topic very interesting and even though I am not an expert on the subject, what I have found out is very revealing aha. I wonder if others would find their results just as eye opening!

I am really sorry if this was a completely uninteresting read, but this is a blog for my internal ramblings and this was the latest one to present itself!

Until next time, Holly x

Make-Up Go-To Products

When it comes to make up I have a small problem… in terms of my bank account, it’s actually quite a big problem. Sometimes I image all the things I could do with all the money I have spent on endless palettes I don’t actually need. So, I thought I would share my current favourite, everyday products.

For foundation and concealer, I actually use two from the same brand, the Bourjois healthy mix serum, gel foundation in the shade ‘51 Light Vanilla’ and the radiance reveal concealer in the shade ‘01 Ivory’. The reason that these two combined have become my recent favourites is due them being quite light. I have a lot of redness in my skin as well as a lot of freckles, so when looking for a foundation I want something that will cover the redness but not my freckles. The foundation helps me get this balance and as for the concealer its really nice a brightening which is something I seriously need considering my sleep pattern is a bit sporadic. I feel like the foundation and concealer both have good lasting power and works well for my combination skin.

For powder I have been using a product that I received in a Glossybox, it is loose banana powder from Bellapierre. Despite being very pale, my skin has yellow undertones, so often I find that banana powders work better for my skin tone and it stops there from being any flash back in pictures!

Now for my favourite part in my whole routine… contour! My head is very round, therefore I sculpt my cheek bones out at any opportunity. My whole grail contouring product is my Kat Von D shade and light palette. I have no idea what I would do without this palette, I cannot rave about it enough! I mostly use the shade ‘Shadowplay’ when contouring (although I have to use it very lightly… I am super, super pale). When contouring I will either use the shade and light contour brush also by Kat Von D or a tiny Beautyuk powder brush.

I’m not a major blush person, but if I do choose to use a blush I will the shade ‘Huan Ying’ from the balm voyage palette from theBalm Cosmetics. I don’t have one favourite highlight however theBalm’s Mary-Lou Manizer, is one on the very top of my list.

Me and my eyebrows have an ongoing love-hate relationship and the product that I have found to work best for me is the Freedom brow powder in ‘Ash Brown,’ with a small angled brush.

Now for eyeshadow, I have a little bit of an obsession with eyeshadow palettes. I have way more than I need of all different brands, prices and colours. Arguably, my most used eyeshadow palette would be my Juvia’s Place, the Saharan palette. The shimmer shades in this palace are absolutely amazing! Every colour in the palette is extremely pigmented and you can do a lot of different looks with just the one palette, simple, bold or glam. My favourite shades include ‘Sokoto,’ ‘Zoya,’ ‘Lulu’ and ‘Jamila’

For mascara I tend to use the Too Face ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara, and for eyeliner I tend to go for the sleek ‘Dip It’ in black.

My lipstick colour changes constantly, but as a rule my go to colours are ‘Boho Nude,’ by Rimmel, ‘Martha Moo’ by Tanya Burr, ‘Yash’ by Mac and ‘Outlaw’ by Kat Von D.

I hope you have enjoyed a little sneak peak into my favourite makeup picks!

Much Love, Holly x
